What is Mead?
Mead is the oldest recorded form of alcoholic beverage. At just around 8,000 years old it is the predecessor to both wine and beer by a few thousand years. Mead is created from honey fermented in a process similar to beer, but like wine can range in flavor from dry to super-sweet.
What is Mead? Are all Meads Sweet?
Not at all! Meads can range from bone dry to super sweet.
Witch’s Brew meads range from mostly semi-sweet to sweet, with a few dry on the side.
How long have you been brewing mead?
Alex has been making mead for over ten years, having started as a homebrewer. Through the support and critique of friends and local brew clubs, she has worked to crafting delicious flavors.
What does Mead Taste Like?
The flavor of mead can vary widely depending on the type of mead and the ingredients used.
Traditional mead (honey, water, yeast) can be sweet or dry but should taste of honey with subtle additional tasting notes depending on the yeast used.
Is Mead Gluten Free
Yes! Mead is naturally gluten free.
